IFWT_We_Re_Gonna_Be_Lords

We’re Gonna Be Lords … “This film is about four artists from New York City, the birthplace of hip-hop music.” Chronicling Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers, Le1f and Action Bronson, Robert Lopuski digs into the elite of up-and-comers most likely to smash the music industry.

A young Action Bronson can be seen in the documentary teaser cooking up a steak and chopping onions. Tasks that he is use to doing, well before he spit a bar. The Queens artist – who just released his debut, Mr. Wonderful – admits that rap was something he came across and being a chef was always a number one priority. “My dream was to be in my own kitchen doing my own thing.”

NYC hip-hop’s artists-to-watch, some facts and statements:

The Underachievers: Issa Gold admits that AK always wanted to be a rapper, while he wanted to be a philosopher. He had always thought that he would gain his PH.D and write books on philosophy.
Action Bronson: One of his favorite things to cook, and eat, is baklava – a sweet pastry made up of layered crust. His Instagram name is actually @BamBamBaklava
Flatbush Zombies: “I’m sick. Certain people are not sick, they’re just healthy; I don’t wanna be healthy,” Meechy Darko says. “I wanna be able to get lost in something and not know why I’m doing it … that’s sick.”
Le1f: An openly gay rapper, Le1f admits that he knew what he wanted to do when he saw some of the other “weird rappers” come out.

The teaser begins with young males praying to God – God being Ol’ Dirty Bastard – that they get the ability to be “trill,” “ill” and financially fit for the future. Every rapper’s dream, right? Watch the We’re Gonna Be Lords piece down bottom.
