She’s facing second-degree murder charges and awaiting arraignment on Tuesday–the baby was “unconscious and foaming at the mouth” when they found him.
Latisha Fisher age 35 is the Woman Arrested For Midtown Restaurant Baby Murder In NYC at the Manhattan spot known as 5 Boro Burger near Sixth Avenue and 36th Street. NBC News and multiple sources report at about 2:45PM today Latisha brought her 20 month old son Gavriel Ortiz-Fisher into the bathroom of the restaurant and locked them inside.

It’s reported management opened the bathroom with a key and found Latisha with the unconscious baby in her lap–proceeding to call 911 (SMH, wow). A witness spoke to press saying:
“I stand up for a minute and look over, and boy’s kind of hunched over and the mom’s in the bathroom,” he said. “I ask what’s going on, and the waitress said the mom’s locked herself in the bathroom.” Witnesses said responding firefighters and EMS tried to administer CPR on the boy inside the restaurant, then rushed him out.
Baby Gavriel was taken to Bellevue Hospital in cardiac arrest but did not make it. The medical examiner’s office will deliver the official cause of death after an autopsy on Tuesday.
