Sad news for the Washington, D.C. native as Yung Gleesh Arrested and Charged With Sexual Assault for SXSW Incident. He’s now being held in Austin, Texas after failing in his attempt to cancel shows and travel back to his hometown safely.
The news that Yung Gleesh Arrested and Charged With Sexual Assault for SXSW Incident comes after a few days of back and forth where no one really knew what was going on. It was this past weekend when according to Fader and Complex, two female friends of Gleesh went to another friend’s house around 2:30AM and passed out. It wasn’t the fact that Gleesh and his crew came to the house later that morning that was the problem–it was the fact that the passed out victim’s friend found Gleesh naked and on top of her later that morning and began yelling to get off of her before taking her to the hospital (yikes).
It was unsure that Yung Gleesh Arrested and Charged With Sexual Assault for SXSW Incident was happening as his arrest was not immediate. He had “abruptly” left SXSW to travel back to D.C. and also canceled a show in the process. Obviously he couldn’t run nor cover his tracks well enough because it all caught up with him.
Today’s reports confirm Yung Gleesh Arrested and Charged With Sexual Assault for SXSW Incident and his mugshot has surfaced. Details still developing in the case but two things are clear. It’s never good news to hear a young artist getting railroaded with a criminal record–and it’s just NEVER OK to sexually assault anyone. Consent is the name of the game people–ask the boys at Penn State, who are still in hot water over Facebook posts of naked and unconscious women (SMH).
You can tell by the tweet by Gleesh’s team during SXSW, who was still selling tickets and promoting shows while he was running from the arrest–that the cover up was real (SMH). But *many* are saying there’s more to this story than meets the eye…
Hopefully at the least–the girl is OK and the truth comes to light. Check the vid and the gallery up top for more.
