Not only did Kendrick Lamar drop one of the most highly-anticipated and talked about albums in YEARS, but he’s also giving back to his fans. Just one week after To Pimp A Butterfly was released, K. Dot did a free concert sponsored by Reebok’s #GetPumped campaign via a moving 18-wheeler truck all up and down Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles where THOUSANDS of die-hard fans waited outside just to see him.
With only an hours notice, Kendrick tweeted out “9pm. meet me here. 8950 Sunset Blvd. 930pm. meet me here. 8466 Melrose Ave.” He performed classic hits off of his first album good kid, m.A.A.d city and then also performed tracks off his latest, To Pimp A Butterfly, for the FIRST time ever live.
Check out some dope footage from the free concert below.
