Bam Bam Baklava himself is representing hip hop women to the fullest with this one. March happens to be Women’s History Month, while we love out Maya Angelou(s), Oprah(s) and Michelle Obama(s) of the world, hip hop is a category to pull some of the most influential women from as well. With March being Action Bronson’s month as well, The Boombox decides to ask the food freak what woman has made an impact for him. “When I think of influential females in hip-hop, my mind goes to Foxy Brown, hands down,” he mentions.

“I am going to tell you, Foxy Brown’s first album and when she was on the Firm s— with [Nas and AZ],” Mr. Wonderful says to The Boombox. “Whoever was writing her rhymes was ill and she was saying them ill too. Ill Na Na was fire.”
But while Bronson respects Foxy and other ladies in rap, if he were to make a song commemorating women, the outcome would be a bit more personal. “If I would make a song dedicated to any woman it would have to be my mom, because you know she’s been their since I came out of her,” the rap chef shares. “She would have to be the one… my mom or my daughter.”
I think when you hear female hip hop artists who changed the game Foxy Brown, Lil Kim (who we’re still hoping for a collaboration from) and E.V.E. always come to mind. They took what MC Lyte, Queen Latifah and others were doing and added the sex appeal, the raw, the hardcore and amplified it.
