The Cleveland Cavaliers have managed to weather the storm of a shaky start and are back in championship contention holding the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving are getting along extremely well and so are newcomers J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert. From the outside looking in, it appears that Kevin Love is the odd man out.
Recently there was a little tiff in the media about LeBron James sending a shot at Kevin Love when he tweeted “Stop trying to find a way to FIT-OUT and just FIT-IN”. Since then rumors of the two not getting along have ballooned.
Kevin Love appeared on ESPN Radio show Mike & Mike this morning and had this to say about his relationship with LeBron James.
“We’re not best friends, we’re not hanging out everyday…I think our relationship is evolving.”
Kevin Love can opt out of his contract with Cavaliers next season. There’s a lot of talk that he’s not happy there and will leave but Love himself has said he doesn’t plan on opting out (although it was said back in January). Still the team has vastly improved and he has a $16,744,219 player option. He can play out next year and sign a new contract in 2016 when the salary cap is projected to hit a new record high thanks to the new TV deal.
