The entire team is speaking out. Following their $7.4 million victory, Marvin Gaye’s children penned a lengthy and unapologetic open letter. Nona, Frankie, and Marvin III have made it clear that T.I. should join the Robin Thicke and Pharrell in the hefty payout. While Skateboard P has spoken out on his big lose, calling the verdict a “handicap” of creation, Robin remained silent, until now.
“This case is far from over. It is merely entering a new phase,” Thicke’s attorney, Howard Kind writes in a new court document.

King claimed that the Gayes used “improper” and “unfair tactics” in what they characterize as an attempt to undermine the verdict. In his response to the verdict, King says that two motions should be stricken. One, coming for T.I. and two, to stop all sales of the “Blurred Lines” single. Not canceling out these motions will “entirely overturn the jury’s verdict,” he adds.
Paul Philips, lawyer for Marvin Gaye III, fired back at Thicke’s response in a statement to TheWrap: “The nature of Mr. King’s response comes as no surprise … In every sense of the phrase, the Thicke parties are backed into a corner legally and are fighting desperately to get out. As for our recent filings, they were made in strict conformity with the court’s mandates, and we’re confident in the ultimate positions we have taken.”
This is just messy. I mean, $7.4 million isn’t enough?! Why weren’t these motions included in the original suit? Umm…stop it.
