The Kentucky Wildcats are undefeated and are currently the best team in college basketball. With that title every year comes the question if they could beat the worst team in the NBA (usually an Eastern Conference team). That question was asked this year as usual but Larry Brown took things a step further in his assessment.
Larry Brown is now a coach at SMU after a lengthy and mostly successful stint as a coach in the NBA.
Brown on Kentucky, via ASAP Sports:
I think they’d honestly make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference if they were in the NBA.
The Boston Celtics currently hold the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 30-37 record. That means if Kentucky were to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference they would have to be better than the Celtics, Pacers, Hornets, Nets, Pistons, Magic, Sixers and Knicks.
Now just asking the question if they could beat the Sixers was bad enough but making the playoffs? Absolutely not. The Kentucky Wildcats are a GREAT team but there’s no way they could beat NBA talent. People forget, no matter how bad an NBA team is, chances are the players are still WAY better than anybody else not on a professional level.
