A little under a year ago, The-Dream was forced to turn himself in to the NYPD for felony assault charges that were filed against him by his then-pregnant girlfriend, Lydia Nam, in 2013.

Upon posting his own $20,000 bail the next day, the singer/songwriter spoke out on the situation, maintaining his innocence and later, some light was shed on just why Lydia would be making up such allegations.

As if it wasn’t suspicious enough that Lydia waited 7 months to file charges from the date of the alleged incident, it was revealed that the Canada native’s visa was about to expire! Dream believed that his ex found out there’s a special visa that allows immigrants to remain in the country if they’re crime victims and they’re needed in the prosecution of the perpetrator…and it looks like he was right!

This week, the charges against him were thrown out due to lack of evidence. Case closed!
