Update
Eric Garner, Sean Bell Wikipedia Pages Altered By NYPD? Yes!They have identified two officers responsible for this act.

“Two officers, who have been identified, were using department equipment to access Wikipedia and make entries,” Commissioner Bill Bratton said at an unrelated press conference on Monday afternoon. “I don’t anticipate any punishment, quite frankly,” he added. The two officers — whose names were not released — do not work in Police Headquarters.

I really find it funny how they won’t release the officers information for safety, but they are quick to plaster individuals accused of a crimes all over the news. Even if you are innocent your mug shot, name and address instantly becomes public knowledge. So even though it has been confirmed the officers won’t face any punishment because Wikipedia is open to the public. This is so telling. You really can’t rely on the internet if people have access to change things so easily.

Since Wikipedia is a publicly accessed and edited web encyclopedia, it’s not inappropriate for NYPD officers or anyone else to visit pages and edit references they believe are technically inaccurate, sources said.“That is their First Amendment right,” a law enforcement source said.

Make sure you watch the video below.

It’s so sad that these men can’t even rest in peace. It’s bad enough there families have to deal with there untimely deaths now there is even more disrespect from the police after the deaths.

In regards to the Eric Garner case, “Garner raised both his arms in the air” was switched to “Garner flailed his arms about as he spoke” after an the court failed to indict Officer Daniel Pantaleo in Garner’s death. “Use of the choke-hold has been prohibited” was also changed to “Use of the choke-hold is legal, but has been prohibited.” Other pages edited were the 2006 case of Sean Bell, Alexien Lien and Amadou Diallo. Keywords like “unarmed,” “armed,” “shot,” and “shot at” were also switched around. Out of the 15,000 IP pages registered to the force, 85 NYPD addresses have been edited on Wikipedia.

I really don’t why the police is changing the Wikipedia the whole world saw the video. I really don’t know what good a body camera is. if people are still finding ways to break the rules. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
