Zelda Williams, 25, said on ‘Today’ that she hasn’t troubled herself with questions about why her father committed suicide. She says that the motive behind her father’s suicide is still a mystery that she’ll never try to solve. During her interview on ‘Today’ she says, “I don’t think there’s a point…It’s not important to ask, because it’s done.” In the interview she also revealed that she was still mourning the loss of her father but she has not burdened herself with questions about his fate. She goes on to say, “A lot of people who have been through it and lost someone [but have gone on to lead full lives] found that … there’s no point questioning it, and there’s no point blaming anyone else for it, and there’s no point blaming yourself, or the world…Because it happened, so you have to continue to move, and you have to continue to live, and manage.”

Zelda stated that the man she knew at home was different from the one the world knew. She says, “It’s not to say people didn’t know dad. They knew a dad that he was proud of them knowing, because he was an incredibly kind and incredibly caring man…He was also very private and very calm and very subdued. And so the side that people know and love and is attached to their childhood is the characters he had so much fun being … that’s not going anywhere…”Of course, it’s lovely when people say my condolences. But for the most part it’s nice to have our private life be our private life.” She will be honoring her dad by presenting an award in his name to the Challenged Athlete Foundation, a charity that he worked with which provides prosthetics to disabled athletes. Zelda says, “I think a lot of people feel his absence…For me, especially, it is going to take a lot of work to allow myself to have the sort of fun happy life that I had.”
