Kanye West gives a public apology to Bruno Mars and Beck.
Read what Yeezy said after the jump…
Remember when Yeezy suggested to Beck that he should give his award to Beyonce at The Grammy’s, well he apologized. “I would like to publicly apologize to Beck, I’m sorry Beck.” That was very mature of Kanye, but he didn’t stop there. At the Yeezus tour stop in Brooklyn, Kanye mentioned a phone conversation he had with Rick Rubin discussing Bruno Mars and the MTV Video Music Awards. He explained how Bruno was winning most of the awards and that recognition in the streets trumps any award that an artist can win from a network.
“When I went to the MTV Awards, Rick Rubin hit me, he said ‘Are you performing at the MTV Awards,’” Kanye at the time. “I said ‘Yeah.’ He said ‘Look man, just do your mothafuckin song and leave. Just do your song and leave. Just do your song and leave.’ Cause sure enough I’m sitting down trying, I’m trying to enjoy mothafuckas performing and shit…And then they start giving out awards and shit. And Bruno Mars win all the mothafuckin awards and shit. You know, I was just thinking about what Rick Rubin told me cause I don’t give a fuck about no TV show. But what I care about is if you an artist and you work hard as fuck and the streets say that you deserve that shit then can’t no mothafuckin networks try to gas everybody up. So, they can sell some [product] with the prettiest mothafucka out.”
Maybe he was going through something because he also decided to publicly apologize to Bruno Mars. “I also want to publicy apologize to Bruno Mars, I used to hate on him but I really respect what he does as an artist… I also would love for Bruno to sing this hook on this song 88 Keys/ Puff and I produced… I even asked Tyler to shoot the vid.”
Do you think Bruno will take Kanye’s offer and sing the hook on that track with Diddy?
