While reflecting on the “trauma” of his past battles, opponents and the fans “who don’t love him like they used to,” is Hollow “in his Black Album” twilight and about to quit?
Hollow Da Don Spits Bars for Upcoming Battle with Charlie Clips starts off the actual bars with “we’re doing this for the number one battle rapper, the only other contestant is Mook” (bracing for the winner to face him next!). Hollow Da Don has continued to make his way through the battle rap scene since the heavyweight bout with Joe Buddens (also mentioned in the clip) which left many underwhelmed. While ‘the doctor’ presiding over the MC’s diagnosis in the clip points out his “swag’s off,” and there’s been “severe bar loss,”–fans, critics and haters can clearly hear what Hollow is really saying: it doesn’t matter what anyone says.
In a clever plot Hollow Da Don Spits Bars for Upcoming Battle with Charlie Clips to illustrate his feelings since a good many feel he’s walking into an L. While edge and the energy in the air may be on Charlie’s side, Hollow’s vid serves as a reinforcement to why he’s just “Not Excited” at the stature and reputation of his legendary counterpart. He simultaneously vents about a fore-shadowed downfall, distraught at how he’s “losing followers” and how it’s been a hard fall from meeting Eminem and killing Total Slaughter. Downfall?: “that’s just not Da Don sh*t!” says the doc!
Don’t let the opening ramble and the ‘shameless plugs’ wash you over, the question of “how do we get Hollow Da Don excited” is of course the continued tease in his busy but strategic line of promo. As for jabs, and though this is just ‘for fun,’ we already know the spectrum of fat jokes and body disses are expected–a la “you go out and eat salads, go home and order steaks” and “you got the body of Winnie the Pooh and the swag of Mr. Magoo” seen here (LOL). Of course there’s 3 sides to every story right??? (Don’t forget the truth!) and as Hollow Da Don Spits Bars for Upcoming Battle with Charlie Clips, many also wonder if this will mark an evolution for Hollow, or nah?
