Funk Fliggity was at NASCAR’s Daytona 500 yesterday(Congrats Joey Longano on Winning), and it seems he ran into USA Today while he was there, they got the scoop on a few things from Flex, including his(and a real) opinion. I tell you what, somebody might be tight when they read it!
Let’s start with the pleasantries, Funk let it be known he’s a BIG Richard Petty fan, and he was stressing to get a pic with him, and he Got it! He also got to ride in one of the cars(The Middle Pace Car);
If you know anything about NASCAR, riding in a car is a Big Deal!!
Ok, let’s get to the nitty gritty, some people will get upset or have a different opinion, which is fine, we always say Everybody deserves an opinion, and here’s Flex’s on NASCAR;
— “I’ve never been a Jeff Gordon fan. I think he’s boring.”
— “I’m not a huge Jimmie Johnson fan, either. I think he’s in great equipment. Is he a good driver? Yes. Is he a great driver? I say no. That’s just my opinion.”
— “I’m a fan of Tony Stewart’s passion, but not his decision-making.”
— “I think Danica (Patrick) is very pretty. This is going to sound weird, but I have a foot fetish and she has very pretty feet. I think she’s amazing for the sport because in 2015, a driver that can bring more fans to the game and inspire more women to be drivers is great. There’s some people who frown on it, but she runs well. Is she going to run well the whole race? Probably not.”
— “I don’t like Toyota in the sport. It doesn’t appeal to me. It’s not exciting. If you wanted to go racing in the early days, you found an old Ford, an old Chevy, an old Chrysler, an old Pontiac, an old Dodge. No one was building a Toyota to run a Toyota.”
— “I’m a big Dale (Earnhardt) Jr. fan — I built him a ’55 Chevy. I was so excited last year when Dale won. He hadn’t won in a long time, and I know it was great for him, his sponsors. You know, Dale should have so many more wins in the win column. But he’s great for the sport, too.”
— “I love to watch people argue about how the rules are different. You love arguing it. But obviously the France family has done a great job with the sport.”
