Chris Bosh is the butt of alot of jokes, but today we need to keep him and his family in our thoughts as he battles a potentially very serious health issue. Bosh was admitted to a hospital in Miami last night after having chest pains and other symptoms and it turns out it could be worse than imagined.

Earlier this week, former Portland Trailblazers player Jerome Kersey died very unexpectedly after an autopsy confirmed he had a blood clot in his leg that broke off and traveled to his lungs. He died just hours after making a public appearance where he looked just fine. It is a very sad story and unfortunately the same thing could be happening to Bosh.
Doctors said he also may have a blood clot in the area of his lungs, but hopefully since he is already in care and being checked, it won’t have the same fatal result as Kersey. According to reports if in fact it is a clot, Bosh’s season would be over and he would not return until next season.
Bosh was “under the weather” on Wednesday when he reported to practice, according to Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, and team trainers sent Bosh to see a doctor. He did not attend practice Thursday and was instead admitted to the hospital.
Initial tests on Bosh, 30, were inconclusive, according to a team spokesman. An independent source confirmed for the Miami Herald that the initial tests were on Bosh’s lungs.
While in New York over the weekend for the All-Star Game, Bosh complained of pain in his side near his rib cage. He then traveled to Haiti during Carnival with his wife, Adrienne, and Dwyane Wade and Wade’s wife, actress Gabrielle Union.
Asked on Thursday after practice whether Bosh was sick in Haiti, Wade said, “I don’t know if he was sick. I’m not a doctor. I just know he wasn’t feeling good. He wasn’t coughing or throwing up, but he just wasn’t feeling good. So I don’t know when it happened. It could have happened in New York.”
Our thoughts are with Bosh and his family and hopefully it turns out to be something minor.
