The Tupac Shakur Exhibit is on display for the world to see; almost. The public’s eyes can touch down on All Eyez on Me: The Writings of Tupac Shakur, beginning April 22. However, some were allowed to view the precious artifacts of the late great west coast rapper, a little sooner. Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, his sister Sekyiwa Shakur and stepbrother Mopreme Shakur were among the audience members who viewed the Q&A panel session with YG, John Singleton, Chuck D, Cheo Coker and more well-known associates of the rapper.

Including ‘recollections and insights’ of Tupac, was the conversation of when Singleton would release the highly anticipated biopic on the skillful artist. “Tupac’s soul would come back and haunt my ass if it wasn’t done right,” he says on taking his time with the masterpiece. “His journey was so specific, but it affected billions of people.” True. Great work takes time. I can wait for this one.

“There’s no need for you to fear me, if you take your time to hear me, maybe you can learn to cheer me.” – Tupac Shakur

All Eyez on Me: The Writings of Tupac Shakur will showcase the rapper’s love of words and his talent as a gifted communicator through handwritten lyrics and poems.

The exhibit will show some of Tupac’s handwritten work, along with interviews, performance footage the Versace suit worn by Pac during the 1996 38th Grammy Awards. I must attend.

YG was able to speak on the influences of Tupac, and even pulled the rapper’s mom aside to make sure that she knew his feelings on the son she birthed.
