12 people have been injured and At Least 6 Dead From Metro North Train Crash Into SUV after a fatal collision caught on fire near White Plains, New York.
It’s not completely clear why the Jeep Cherokee was on the tracks in the first place, however At Least 6 Dead From Metro North Train Crash Into SUV this evening. The MTA reports the Harlem line train No. 659 left Grand Central Station at 5:45PM and crashed into the vehicle around 7:00PM in the town of Valhalla, about 30 miles north of Manhattan:
“Aaron Donovan, a spokesman for the Metro-North Railroad, said the fatalities included the female driver of the vehicle and five passengers aboard the train.”

The train allegedly shoved the car ten train cars north upon impact. Though passengers for the most part couldn’t feel the collision, firefighters were not immediately at the scene and many broke their way out before the official evacuation.
