The Unemployment rate for African American men 20 years old and beyond dropped just a little bit in December of 2014 compared to the month prior to that. Though it was good news that it dropped for a little bit the jobless rate for African American Men remains twice as high as that of other Race Groups such as Whites , Hispanics and Asians. So Statistics have shown that in December 2014 the unemployment rate for Black men was 11.0 percent compared to 11.2 percent in November , which is dope ! According to BLS’s monthly household check the amount of people who are actually actively applying for jobs improved to 67.8 percent in December as well compared to 66.8 percent in November !

But BLS also reported that nonfarm payroll employment rose by 252,000 jobs in December and the unemployment rate had dropped down to 5.6 percent. Most of the times when the unemployed were able to get a Job were professional and business services , construction , food related , bars and manufacturing . The December Stats may have been the best year for employment since 1999 as over 95% of jobs were gained by the unemployed in December and throughout the year but unfortunately were there’s good news there is bad news.
The Unemployment rate for Black women 20 years old and up was 8.2% in December but compared with the previous statistic of 9.5 percent in November . The Labor participation for African American women declined to 62.2 percent in December compared to 11.0 percent in Novembers stat.
The African American Jobless rate remains much higher than the White unemployment rate of 4.8 percent , the Asain unemployment rate on a non seasonal basis of 4.2 percent and the Hispanic Jobless rate of 6.5 percent.
