Bruce Jenner has been making a lot of headlines lately because he will soon begin living his life as a female. His family is standing behind his decision, a source told People Magazine that he “is transitioning to a woman..he is finally happy and his Kardashian family is accepting of what he’s doing. He’s in such a great space. That’s why this is the perfect time to do something like this” and that he has “come out to those closest to him.” The report comes days after it was revealed that he would be starring in his own reality show docu-series documenting his ‘journey’ which will air as early as May.
The former 65-year-old Olympian decided to transition more than a year ago, and “one of the first steps” was having an operation called a laryngeal shave. Since then he has reportedly undergone other procedures and psychological counseling to prepare for the transition. There are also reports that Jenner spoke about his decision with his family last month in front of the cameras. His children have been supportive and are standing behind their dad, but Kris “freaked out” during the conversation.
Jenner is reportedly taking the transition process slow so that his family can adapt to the changes. The source also told People that, “He’s being very smart about and also respectful about his transition…Instead of completely shocking everyone, his changes have been subtle, and his family has had the chance to slowly get used to his new looks and life…The family is really giving this space and time to Bruce. This is his story and they want him to tell the world the way he wants…They really want to empower him to tell his story so that hopefully he can help other people too. That’s the goal…The (kids’) concern seems to be Bruce’s happiness, and he acts very pleased with his new life.”
