LeBron James sat out the Cleveland Cavaliers game against the Portland Trailblazers on Wednesday night with a sprained wrist. Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving more than picked up the slack by dropping a career high 55 points including a Cavaliers record of 11 three-pointers and a game-winning three. Though James couldn’t play he was on the sidelines dancing and cheering his teammate on.
LeBron James ran out onto the court to greet Irving after he drained a three-pointer and did his happy dance on the sidelines.
James declined to speak to reporters following the game, telling them it’s Kyrie Irving’s night. “The only one talking tonight is Kyrie,” James said. He left the locker room with his wrist taped. “I’ll see you all Friday.” He later took to his Twitter account to congratulate Irving saying,
Just watched live one of if not the one greatest performances by a person and he happen to be my teammate/runningmate/brother @KyrieIrving!!
Cavaliers reserve big man Tristan Thompson shared the team’s post-game fun with Irving on his Instagram account. James, it appears, was the ring leader of the dousing.
