It’s no secret that Floyd Mayweather does not like Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum; so it was no surprise that talks about their mega fight have stalled yet again. Mayweather maintains that Arum continuously spreads lies. Well now he finally got to speak to Pacquiao in person for the first time as they both showed up to the Miami Heat game on Tuesday night.
The fighters were sitting directly across from each other courtside at the game and during halftime Mayweather made his way over to Pacquiao where they were finally able to speak to each other with no messengers skewing the facts. Despite the public social media attacks the two waged at each other (more so from Pacquiao), the two were very cordial. They shook hands, held a brief discussion and exchanged phone numbers.
There’s still no guarantee that the $250 million mega fight will happen but this is definitely a step in the right direction to help cut the red tape.
Mayweather said it was important to get with Pacquaio and eliminate the lies that are out there and also to work the fight out themselves. Pacquiao said it’s the first time the two had ever met and he is confident the fight will happen.
