“Get down, get down, everybody get down. Get down, everyone get down, stay down,” yelled out New Hope, Minnesota city council member John Elder. The councilman was in the adjoining room when a bullet came threw the door. In the next room, police officers Joshua Ernisse and Adam Johnson were shot during a City Hall swear-in ceremony by Raymond Kmetz. The shooter, whose intentions are unknown was shot and killed by fellow officers, all sounds being caught on film.

No one knows Kmetz’ motives for the shooting, however it’s said that he had a history of mental illness as well as run-ins with the police in New Hope.

Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Mike Carlson told CBS Minnesota that both officers were in good condition following the shooting.
