The Miami Heat’s season since the departure of LeBron James has been pretty up and down but on Sunday night they had a new bright star by the name of Hassan Whiteside. The Chicago Bulls had no answer for Whiteside. In just 24 minutes on the floor, the Miami Heat center was a terror in the paint, putting up a career night with a triple-double of 14 points, 13 rebounds and a Heat franchise record 12 blocks. When he was asked what his motivation was for the historic night, he had a hilarious answer.
Hassan Whiteside says he’s “just trying to get my NBA 2K rating up” after recording a triple double. The NBA 2K developers heard Whiteside loud and clear and posted a response.

A former second-round pick of the Sacramento Kings, Whiteside bounced around overseas and in the D-League, a tremendously talented big man with questions about his attitude that scared most teams off.
“I told my teammates, you wouldn’t believe how things work out in life,” Whiteside said. Three months ago, you can ask anybody at the downtown [YMCA] in Charlotte, I was there just chilling. Just working on my game. I couldn’t even get a team to pick up the phone.”
Whiteside is averaging 7.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game this season.
