Amidst all of the cop-on-citizen brutality is the dash-cam footage of officer Braheme Days, shooting and killing Jerame Reid, 36. After Days and partner Roger Worley noticed a Jaguar vehicle running a stop sign, the two decided to partake in a routine traffic stop. On the dash-cam, Days is heard yelling to his partner that a gun was in the glove box – this happened after he had realized he knew the passenger (the victim). It turns out that Reid and officer Days had history.

“Dude, you’re going to be f**king dead. I’m telling you! You reach for something, you’re going to be f**king dead,” said officer Braheme Days. “Keep your f**king hands right there. Hey Jerame, you reach for something, you’re going to be f***ing dead,” were the last words the young man heard before both officer Days and his partner filled him with bullets.
Conrad J. Benedetto, an attorney representing the Reid family, also released a statement questioning the incident.
“While our investigation is still ongoing, the City of Bridgeton’s release of the police cruiser’s video footage showing the shooting of Mr. Reid raises serious questions as to the legality and/or reasonableness of the officers’ actions that night,” Benedetto said in the statement. “We have viewed the footage which speaks for itself. The footage shows the officers shooting Mr. Reid after he exited the vehicle with his hands raised in front of him. We are in the process of obtaining copies of the footage so that it can be analyzed in greater detail.”
