Director Lonnie Edwards and executive producer Todd Walton, in connection with The Lost Voices activist group, have joined forces to give us a birds-eye view of Ferguson, MO and the aftermath of fallen teen, Mike Brown. The group are in the works of A Ferguson Story, a 70-minute documentary film that will hopefully serve as an eye-opener to local, state, and federal government on topic of police brutality. “This is real. You see part of the picture in the media,” explains Walton to Revolt. “This [documentary] is actually putting you right there on the corner, on the street right in front of the police. This was an 18-year-old kid that was on his way to college that got shoot six times in a defensive manner.”

A Ferguson Story is a film dedicated to documenting the stories and the evolution of resistance surrounding Ferguson, and the mainstream media’s portrayal of youth of color and what has become the modern Civil Rights Movement. They are the Lost Voices. This is their story.
The idea is for officials to decide whether citizens should fear police or know and understand that the police our for the protection of the citizens. Excellent idea. While we witnessed many of the events and aftermath of Brown’s death, we will now get a chance to view through lens of someone like victim.
“The Revolution Will Be Televised” and A Ferguson Story‘s official viewing is set for release sometime in the winter of 2015.
