The Seattle Seahawks pulled off an improbable 28-22 overtime win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, winning the NFC Championship and going on to the Super Bowl to face the New England Patriots. It was a game where Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had thrown 4 interceptions before the final 2 minutes, 10 seconds and before he and his team mounted a truly memorable comeback. Wilson was so overcome with emotion, he let the tears flow on national TV.
Russell Wilson breaks down in tears and thanked God and also his teammates for having faith in him.
For 58 minutes, the Seattle Seahawks were as bad as they possibly could be. Then two touchdowns, 15 points. In a span of 44 seconds Sunday afternoon, the Seahawks flipped the script on not only the game, but their season. Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, Jermaine Kearse – instead of being remembered for their failings, they’ll be remembered for the spectacular plays that gave the Seahawks the improbable 28-22 win in overtime.
And instead of heading home, all of the Seahawks are headed for Arizona, where they’ll play for a second consecutive Super Bowl title in two weeks.
The Seahawks are the first defending Super Bowl champions to return to the game since the 2004 New England Patriots.
