The Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Oregon Ducks 42-20 in the first ever College Football Playoff Championship. Ohio native LeBron James was on deck in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to watch the game and celebrate with his Buckeyes. But his presence has of course attracted controversy.
James was catching heat from all angles on Monday night as he celebrated the Buckeyes win. People grew angry with @SportsCenter constantly tweeting photos of James at the game. People attacked James for being an Ohio St. fan when he never went to college. Some people were angry he was out watching and celebrating with that team while his team the Cleveland Cavaliers have been struggling in his absence while he sits out with a knee injury. And some people even dug up photos of James showing support to Oregon months and almost a year ago.
James however seemed unfazed and enjoyed his night. He jumped for joy with his friends as the Buckeyes won and went on the field hugging and congratulating Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones.
Sidenote: James did practice with the Cavaliers prior to the game and is expected to rejoin the lineup tonight as they play the Phoenix Suns.
