Roc Nation launched Roc Nation Sports Presents: Throne Boxing at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday night. Of course Roc Nation kingpin Jay Z was on hand as well as a few other Roc Nation signees including Rihanna, New York Yankees C.C. Sabathia and Fabolous as I pointed out earlier. Also on hand was actor Jake Gyllenhaal, actor Michael K. Williams, actress Rosie Perez and it was hosted by Roc Nation’s own, Angie Martinez.
According to Miss Info:
Fabolous and DJ Mustard provided the night’s entertainment, as the main event ended with 20-year-old Dusty Hernandez-Harrison defeating Tommie Rainone by unanimous decision to improve his record to 25-0.
Props to Jay Z on the star power in the building but one question I kept seeing was, “Who’s fighting?”. That shouldn’t be a problem going forward as the company continues to grow. Although Adrien Broner turned them down, Roc Nation did sign Andre Ward, adding him to their superstar roster. He of course was in the building as well.
