Former Knick J.R Smith held his first pregame presser as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers and boy did he make it memorable.
Prior to the Cavaliers game against the Houston Rockets, Smith didn’t seem nervous at all about not knowing the Cavaliers playbook yet. “Worse come to worse … my motto is, ‘When in doubt, shoot the ball,’ ” Smith said. “So when in doubt, I’m going to shoot it and hopefully that don’t catch nobody off guard.” I’m sure it didn’t…
Smith went on to go 0-5 from the field, four of which were three-point attempts and two of those were from half court. He also added one rebound, one steal, one block and two turnovers in his 18 minutes off the bench.
The Rockets beat the Cavaliers 105-93, marking the Cavs third loss in a row.
The Cavaliers also received Iman Shumpert from the Knicks in the trade but Shumpert will remain out for the next 2-3 weeks with a dislocated left shoulder.
