Joey Bada$$, Madlib, Pete Rock and More for Dilla Day Weekend in Miami as the annual tribute and celebration of the legendary producer-rapper J Dilla gears up to commence.
Hosted by his mother (aptly named “Ma Dukes”) Maureen Yancy, tickets to see Joey Bada$$, Madlib, Pete Rock and More for Dilla Day Weekend in Miami are now available. Also set to perform are Talib Kweli, Black Milk, Camp Lo, ESTA and a host of others. Traditionally the event was held in Dilla’s hometown of Detroit, but looks like change is definitely upon us.
Not just a series of DJ sets, producer sessions, and live performances, Dilla Day boasts a Hip Hop festival-community-like activity list, also including panels, artist meet-and-greets, some surprise elements and–keeping it hood–a BBQ for good measure.
Ma Dukes spoke on having Joey Bada$$, Madlib, Pete Rock and More for Dilla Day Weekend in Miami in what seems an action for the future vision of the festival:
