Not just the sports world, but everyone in general lost an amazing man this morning. ESPN anchor Stuart Scott lost his battle with cancer after a long and hard fight. Despite what he was going through, he always kept a smile on his face and projected a strong and positive attitude. There was no better example of that then during the 2014 ESPYS.
Stuart Scott was awarded with the Jimmy V Perseverance award and gave a moving, unforgettable speech that touched everyone in the room and those watching on TV. The speech was so moving it continued to be the topic of conversation long after it aired.
What people didn’t know is that prior to the ESPYS, Scott had undergone surgeries and treatment for his cancer and many worried that he wouldn’t be able to make the trip. But ever in Scott fashion, he persevered and fought his way there. Now this speech will forever live in our memories.
