“What better way to start off 2015 than by going green?” Action Bronson and Alchemist Kick Off B-Real’s Smokebox Series in 2015 with an interview that sparks more than just topic talk.
“I’m a big fan of life. It’s all worth it,” says the Queens-bred rapper-chef as Action Bronson and Alchemist Kick Off B-Real’s Smokebox Series in 2015. Unless you’ve already been on B-Real TV, interviews quite like this aren’t usual. But the west coast titan serves up the reality of rotation-conversation with the tactics of a professional journalist and doesn’t shy away from topics, giving us more of a perspective on ol’ Action. B-Real offered OG jewels from his Cypress legacy and commentary such as:
“There’s alot of facets about you that people like…You get a lot of comparisons but that’s life. I think your sh*t is your own. I used to get sometimes comparisons to the Beastie Boys because I was up on a higher range with the voice, kind of like Ad-Rock and Mike D. But what’s cool is you made your personality about it, it wasn’t just the rap style or your voice, it’s about who you are.”
This is a welcome view into the mind, inspiration and attitude of Action the artist, who’s recent headlines have mostly come from the Azealia Banks “culture smudging” situation. He went on to discuss his upcoming major label debut, prospects for his own production, an official cookbook, the first Hip Hop dab pen, wrestling and his love of the culture.
Action Bronson and Alchemist Kick Off B-Real’s Smokebox Series also boasted Queens native and legendary producer Alchemist adding his own facts and laughs from the backseat. Among all the smoke and coughing–we got wind of how Alchemist got his start, the impact of hip hop culture and his collaboration/production we can expect on Bronson’s upcoming album.
