In 2013, Nipsey Hussle released the game-changing Crenshaw, becoming the first-ever artist to sell a project for $100. The idea behind it was pretty simple – sure, you can listen and get it for free online, but if you’re really a “fan” and support this artist, then you’ll pay a little extra, get a hard copy AND get a ticket to a private concert and a chance to meet him. Seems like a pretty sweet deal – and it paid off! Nip made over $100,000 doing it this way, with even the legendary Jay Z contributing $1,000 of that number!
Now Nip will change the game once again with the release of his forthcoming “album before the album,” Mailbox Money. Releasing on New Year’s Eve, Mailbox Money will be made available in 3 ways – for free on DatPiff, for $10 on iTunes…and for $1,000 via his Proud 2 Pay site. And yes, the latter comes with more than just music.

Along with getting a physical copy of Mailbox Money, the Proud 2 Pay option will also include an invite to an exclusive listening session for what will serve as his debut album in 2015, Victory Lap. A stack is a lot of money, but if you’re a hardcore fan, it’s definitely worth it! Which option will you be going with?
