It’s been said “we all get the same 24 hours,” (true!) and clearly the “Young OG” has been putting in work as the year wraps up. But Fab hasn’t just been making headlines and gearing up for a highly anticipated album release. With the weigh in of Fabolous On His 2015 New Year’s Resolution, it’s clear he’s also playing chess.
Speaking vision to life is Fabolous On His 2015 New Year’s Resolution…in a recent interview recapping his decision to sign with Roc Nation management as well as what the future holds for the Brooklyn emcee–more than the usual prospect of endorsement deals and ventures beyond the music we expect from every rapper-hustler individual. No, his current deal to be an ambassador for Rocawear’s new BLAK line (yes, Rocawear is back) is just the beginning.
“That’s why I got Roc Nation because I wanted to build my team outside of what the record label does. At these label meetings, we’re siting in there with my team, Roc Nation and Def Jam. So we’re attacking it like a three-headed dragon. I learned a lot of this from Clue and Duro.”
Fab’s comments are more than what he says exactly, but what he means and the work he’s about to put behind that. Anyone on a come up, maintaining a brand or just an appreciation of his career knows what he’s aiming at. Fabolous On His 2015 New Year’s Resolution had this to say:
“My whole 2015 resolution is make moves. I’ve been in this game so long I have to make myself a stable brand. Whether it’s my style or my lyrics, I need to brand it. You don’t last in this game this long by just trying to come up with a hit.”
He goes on to lay out the nature of the game for an artist in today’s music industry, his sights as a businessman, and even harsh but honest criticism on his rap career from friend Jermaine Dupri. Though some fans, critics, and even Hip Hop heavyweights have respected but counted him out in the past, it’s clear you “Can’t Deny” Young Loso. Check the source below for the full interview.
