There are some persistent rumors suggesting that Peyton Manning was read to hang it up after this season. Check out what he had to say about it. Hit the jump for details.
Via Fansided:
Peyton Manning is getting up there in age, and his time with the Denver Broncos could be dwindling rapidly. When Manning threw four interceptions last week against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football, talk about his declining skills led to some retirement talk and questioning.
“I certainly plan on being back if the Broncos will have me,” Manning said via the Denver Post.
Manning is one season removed from a historic campaign that broke several single season records. He also has two seasons left on his contract, one that he has stated he wants to play out.
Manning didn’t really want to elaborate on it, saying his focus is on the next game but he did show his humorous side
“At this point I’m thinking about Oakland. I know this is the time when there are conversations about what coaches are going to return. For some reason I guess I get to fall into that category because maybe I’m closer to the same age as some of the coaches. But I have no plans along those lines. I’m enjoying playing and looking forward to Sunday’s game and the game to follow that.”
