Kevin Hart’s comedy films has broken box office records and his stand-up shows constantly sell out. His “Let Me Explain” show sold out at The Madison Square Garden. It wasn’t a big surprise when Kevin Hart Wins Comedy Star of the Year at the PEOPLE Magazine Awards on Thursday.
Kevin Hart got emotional when he accepted his award. His mother wasn’t able to see his successes and he took that moment to pay homage to his mother in spirit. “My mom put my work ethic in me,” said The Real Husbands of Hollywood Star. “I also want to thank God but that goes without saying.” Kevin Hart will also Host SNL on Jan. 17, 2015.It will be the first new episode of the year
The award was presented to him at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles by Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and Frozen’s Josh Gad, who costar with him in the new film The Wedding Ringer (out Jan. 16).
The award comes on the heels of Hart’s role in the new Chris Rock comedy Top Five. He was also featured in the summer hit Think Like a Man Too, and kicked off his successful year with a starring role alongside Ice Cube in Ride Along, a box office smash that already has a sequel in the works.
