Noooooo, I wasn’t ready (Kevin Hart voice)! During a sit down with VladTV, Kurupt gets real wild over a line from Kendrick Lamar’s famed Control verse.
Check it out down bottom.

It’s been almost a year and a half since Big Sean dropped, Control. The track flourished with Kendrick Lamar as the featured guest who calls out multiple rap artists. In addition to the name-dropping, the Compton native claimed King of New York. “I’m important like the Pope/I’m a Muslim on pork/I’m Makaveli’s offspring, I’m the king of New York,” he spits. This got the listeners talking since fact is, Kurupt said it first. “I’m important like the Pope, I’m the king of New York/Live from South Central/I’m a Muslim on pork,” Kurupt says on the 2011 track, Get Bizy.
With that line from the Control verse looming, Kurupt went from 0 to 1,000 real quick. Bringing in talk of east coast/west coast beef.
“You notice, how since somebody from the west coast will that they the king of f**kin’ New York, they automatically assume we’re disrespecting New York,” he yells as he punches his fist in hand. “We don’t have a problem with you New York. Stop it my ni**a!…we don’t want your city, your country, your town…nigga, we are the West coast, why the fuck would we want to be where you at?”
LMMFAO! I’m sorry, this was some funny s**t! As soon as Kurupt completed his rant, he’d relaxed himself and went back to a subtle voice. Check it out.
The thing is, when it comes down to that line, it was a topic of hip hop conversation. Yes, Kendrick is from California and he’d rapped King of New York, but like Eminem and his lyrics of rape, some things are allowed in rap when you’re ranked high in the game.
