A month-long war of words between Kendrick Perkins and Rudy Gay continued before the Oklahoma City Thunder played at Phoenix Sunday. Gay previously said Perkins should play with paint on his face because he’s a clown. Perkins was asked to respond to that comment.
From ESPN.com NBA writer Royce Young:
Perk responding to Rudy Gay: “I’d rather be a clown than a virus. At least if I paint my face I can wash the paint off. A virus gets in your bloodstream. You can’t get rid of that.”
One can only assume Perkins is referring to Gay being traded away by both the Memphis Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors, followed by marked improvement by each team.
The Oklahoma City Thunder and Sacramento Kings will face off again on Tuesday in Sacramento on ESPN.
