Oh boy! While many have used walks and protests to show support in the unjustified deaths of black males such as Eric Garner and Mike Brown by the police, Uncle Murda and Maino use their voices. In, “Hands Up” the two rap about being black men in a society of white police officers who kill for unexplained reasons. Unlce Murda and Maino released a skin-chilling, but truth-telling visual to their latest visual, “Hands Up”. Nassau County Jail served as one of the facilities where the video was filmed and now, New York state officials are lashing out because of that fact. “It’s disgusting, it’s purely disgusting,” says Roy Richter, president of the NYPD – Captain’s Endowment Association. “I think any video that advocates violence against police officers especially, is something where the makers of that video should be held responsible for it.” There’s the comment – somehow when violence on a police officer are depicted in a fictional display, it becomes a problem.

Back in August, an unused section of the jail was rented out to Uncle Murda, but now people like Richter and Nassau County Correction Officers Benevolent Association President John Jaronczyk are speaking out in disgust, because the visual depicts violence [on an officer]. “If they want to rent out a Hollywood studio to film that, they have the freedom to do that but Nassau County should not be allowing them to do that in their facility,” he says. “What’s next? Are we going to do an adult video in the jail? Where is the limit here?” Damn, can we say ‘stretch?’
