Kobe Bryant is not only one of the greatest players ever in basketball, he’s also one of the most critical. So for him to say he sees himself in Minnesota Timberwolves rookie, Andrew Wiggins, it really means a lot.
Kobe Bryant reached an incredible milestone on Sunday night, passing Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list. The historic game came against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
On one side you saw Kobe Bryant, who is still performing, still putting up impressive numbers at age 36 (coming off two major surgeries) and in passing Michel Jordan on the all-time scoring list he is a testament to getting the most out of your natural ability through hard work and dedication to the craft.
On the other side is promise incarnate. Andrew Wiggins is the guy Minnesota needed in order to give up Kevin Love. At age 19 he shows incredible athleticism and with that incredible potential.

Kobe: “I remember being Andrew Wiggins…It’s like looking at a reflection of myself 19 years ago.”
That’s an incredible compliment to the kid and let’s not forget that Wiggins was compared to LeBron James when he was still in high school. Wiggins has an awful lot to live up to. The talent is there, we’ll just have to see if the work ethic is there as well.
