Yesterday a bombshell report was released stating that Carmelo Anthony threatened to beat up Tim Hardaway Jr., that the two argued and basically hate each other. Carmelo Anthony & Tim Hardaway Jr. were asked about the validity of the report and admit that something did happen.
via ESPN:
“Me and Tim have no problems,” Anthony said before the Knicks’ 109-95 loss to the Spurs. “…. Tim is a guy who I always wrapped my arm around and put under my wing from day one, helped him through times when he’s been down, and I will continue doing that.”
Added Hardaway Jr.: “We’re brothers. Brothers argue in the heat of the moment and then they make up. It’s just that simple. I look at Melo as a mentor.”
Carmelo Anthony & Tim Hardaway Jr did admit that there was an argument but that’s expected with two guys and two competitors on a team that’s extremely bad. The Knicks are currently 4-20 on a ten-game losing streak.
Anthony admits that they had a players-only team meeting where everyone was allowed to speak their piece but no one was pointing figures and no one accused him of playing selfish basketball as the report stated. Anthony also pointed out that contrary to the report, they are committed to the triangle offense but admitted that sometimes they get frustrated.
