John Wall’s 26 points, 7 rebounds and 17 assists in the Washington Wizards 133-132 double overtime win against the Boston Celtics, was fueled and inspired by his young friend Miyah. If you’ve been following Wall, then you know about his love and dedication for a young girl named Miyah who was diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately Miyah lost that battle with cancer and passed away on Monday morning. Monday night Wall paid homage to his young friend and broke down in tears as he spoke of her.

A moment of silence for Miyah Telemaque-Nelson was held before Monday’s game against the Boston Celtics, and Wall played with “RIP Miyah” written on his sneakers.
Wall met Telemaque-Nelson last March, five months after she was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma. The Wizards point guard started a social media campaign to help her meet rapper Nicki Minaj.
According to CSN Washington, Wall had been writing the little girl’s name on his shoes all season and had communicated with her as recently as two weeks ago via FaceTime, the team said.
During his postgame interview, it all became too much for Wall as he spoke about his young friend. He couldn’t hold back the tears and was escorted away by a team official. He later put up a beautiful post about Miyah on his Twitter account.

Rest in peace Miyah and love and condolences to John Wall for being such an inspiration.
