Marshawn Lynch’s reluctance to speak with the media is well documented. In fact his unwillingness to do interviews is more documented then any words he’s actually said. After racking up $100,000 in fines, Lynch changed his no speaking tactic to “yeah” and “nope” answers. He did however open up to his former Seahawks teammate Michael Robinson in an on camera interview that aired on NFL GameDay First and NFL GameDay Morning. In the interview he revealed that his relationship with football scribes could prevent him from ever having a bust in Canton.
“You know who votes for that,” Lynch quipped. “They don’t seem to … see eye to eye with me — which is cool. And if I’m not, (expletive), I’ll still live.”
Lynch already has four career playoff games with at least 100 rushing yards in addition to one of the defining postseason plays of his generation. He’s also cruising toward his fifth Pro Bowl selection.
However, currently, he’s 39th on the all-time rushing list, with 8,345 yards. That puts him well behind non-Hall of Famers like Jerome Bettis (13,662), Fred Taylor (11,695), Corey Dillon (11,241), Warrick Dunn (10,967), Ricky Watters (10,643), Jamal Lewis (10,607),Thomas Jones (10,591), Tiki Barber (10,449), Eddie George (10,441), Ottis Anderson (10,273), and Ricky Williams (10,009).
Lynch will need a couple more years of high production to be considered for the Football Hall of Fame but once again it’s being reported that he’s considering retirement. Lynch is currently 28-years old.
