The Seattle Seahawks cornerback is known for being a man of many words, never biting his tongue. Well, what a coincidence…the 26-year-old has dropped a new word game, “Letters of Boom,” officially setting his place in the app business. Sherman said, “I’ve always loved word games, but there has never been anything out there that felt hard-hitting or extreme for me.” So, he took matters into his own hands, creating the “action oriented word game.”

He [Sherman] has lent his name and voice to a new iPhone word game.
The aptly named “Letters of Boom” game officially hit the Apple App Store on Wednesday. Developed by digital agency Digital Kitchen, which has offices in Seattle, the game costs $1.99 to download and currently is available only for iPhone.
“I’ve always loved word games, but there has never been anything out there that felt hard-hitting or extreme for me,” Sherman said in an announcement. “I’m excited to be one of the first professional athletes to deliver an action-oriented word game.”
Here’s how it works: You try to spell words (maximum seven letters) using an endless stream of letters that you can drag one-by-one into two “trays,” for lack of a better word. Different letters have different point values, and you can score more points with occasional bonuses and multipliers.
It’s a lot like Scrabble — minus the board, plus Richard Sherman. Whenever you submit a word, Sherman’s voice congratulates you … or, on occasion, teases you for using just three letters.
It sounds like Sherman was fairly involved in the development of “Letters of Boom.” The game was developed at Digital Kitchen’s offices in both Seattle and Chicago, but all of Sherman’s involvement was, of course, in Seattle.
