Everyone has an opinion. In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Bette Midler criticizes Ariana Grande’s image saying she was “making a whore out of herself.” Ariana took to her Twitter Tuesday (November 25) to respond to Midler’s comments.
In case you missed it, Midler said: “It’s terrible! It’s always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch, looking so ridiculous,” Midler told The Telegraph. “Trust your talent. You don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead. You really don’t.”
Despite the harsh comment, there is no love lost. Grande tweets that she’s “a fan no matter what.”
“Bette was always a feminist who stood for women being able to do whatever the F they wanted without judgement!” Grande tweeted. “Not sure where that Bette went, but I want that sexy mermaid back!!! Always a fan no matter what, my love.”
The pop star tweets that she still loves “The First Wives Club”
“And I will still quote first wives club every single day of my life lmao.”
Midler was so moved by Grande’s response, she praised the singers “beautiful voice” and maintained that the young singer doesn’t need a “couch” routine to keep her fame.
About my screed on @ArianaGrande , all I can say is, “Spoken like a reformed old whore! She does have a beautiful voice, on a couch or off.”
