“Hands up! Don’t shoot!” Artist Macklemore took part in the chanting taken in hometown Seattle on Monday evening, following the grand jury decision to not indict Darren Wilson for the shooting of Mike Brown.
Although the “Thrift Shop” rapper attempted to blend in with the rest of the marching protesters, a King 5 cameraman spotted him head on. “It’s not about me. It’s about Mike Brown,” Macklemore mentioned to keep the focus on why he was on the scene.

Macklemore wasn’t the only one expressing his feelings on the most heartbroken topics of today. B.O.B. posted to Instagram his suggestions on change (he also makes a very compelling argument in his single, “Black Man”) and August Alsina, who performed for a packed house in San Jose was bought to tears as he stated, “I’m emotional ’cause I could’ve been that ni**a that they killed.”
Things can only change with actions of the speakers in effect.
