Jorge Pena was a former minor league pitcher from the Dominican Republic and is now a bouncer in the Bronx. He says he can’t wear his favorite 8-Ball jacket anymore because of Slap On The Train Heard Around The World. A video of him slapping a woman in self-defense surfaced online.
Pena says, “I can’t wear my jacket anymore,” a day after the video of the ‘Slap On The Train Heard Around The World’ was released. Manhattan prosecutors dropped the charges against him because he was defending himself. He goes on to say that since the video went viral he receives reactions on the street when he wears his jacket now such as, “This is the man who slapped a girl.” He states, “I don’t even have a jacket to wear..I love that jacket.” Pena slapped Danay Howard, 21, with the same hand that he once used to toss 98 mph fastballs when pitching for the Oakland Athletics’ minor league team.

He says, “I’m going to say to her, ‘I’m sorry…You left me no choice.” Pena slapped Howard because she was teasing him about his jacket. She then began to hit him with a 6-inch stiletto and that is when Pena slapped her. “I never in my life slapped anybody…I’m a strong man. I don’t want to get in trouble because I can kill someone”, he says. Pena was sent to jail on a $1,000 bail for a misdemeanor and Howard was charged with felony assault and was released without bail. Before the incident occurred Pena was retuning home from a 12-hour shift, and he said he just wants to provide for his family and 20-month-old son. It will take time but the Slap On The Train Heard Around The World will eventually go away, plus Pena needs a jacket a little stronger during the winter in NYC anyway!
