Michael Vick isn’t the only one who believes the NY Jets would have a better record he were starting sooner. His teammate Chris Johnson feels the same way.

“Yeah, I think so. I think if he was starting from day one it would be totally different,” Johnson said. “He came in and his role was to help Geno (Smith) develop and try to help him the best he can, but at the end of the day it turned out how it turned out and (we’ve) just got to live with it.”
“He’s going out there, he’s still doing the same thing,” Johnson said. “Can still run the ball, can still make the throws.”
“You can’t go back in the past,” he said. “Just gotta push on and go with it.”
Both Vick and Johnson were added to the Jets in the offseason and many thought things would go differently this year. Instead they’re 2-8 with little to no hopes of making it to the playoffs but like Johnson said, what’s done is done. It will add insult to injury if Vick continues to play well for the six games left. If anything coach Rex Ryan should’ve given him a chance sooner and if it didn’t work out then let Geno play and see if he gets any better. At this point everyone knows what Vick is capable of, the Jets will now have to assess if it’s possible for Geno to greatly improve.
