The holiday season is almost upon us and Birdman is giving back to the less fortunate with Thanksgiving dinner!

In a recent interview with XXL, Birdman discusses his 19th annual turkey giveaway. He opened up about his past and talked about his poverty struggles which later on inspired him to donate as much as he can. Since the start of the giveaway in 1996, the Cash Money Boss has given away over 50,000 turkeys.
“I used to go in the store and me and my friends would go in the store and run out with all the turkeys… and be like, f*ck it you heard me? And go bring them back into the project. We had no food. Nobody had nothing to eat… So we’ll go in there, take the turkeys, have some of the females go get the dressing. And we go in the projects and we stay in a circle and we feed the whole circle. We gonna do that sh*t like Monday through Friday until they really stop letting us in the mother*cker.”
He plans to travel to New Orleans and Atlanta to hand out plenty of turkeys and give people a sense of comfort and feeling cared for during the holidays.
Last month, Birdman launched #IRead #WeRead which is a growing campaign within his Cash Money Content Division that is aimed at encouraging children to read.In order to spread awareness and conversation about illiteracy in the community, he urged parents and children to tweet the books that they read.
