This past Monday NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio signed a Bill that will lower NYC speed limit to 25 Miles Per Hour. The law will affect most NYC streets and begins on Friday November 7, 2014.

This new law is apparently part of Mayor De Blasio’s ‘Vision Zero’ plan, in a hopes to make the street’s safer and reduce traffic related deaths. Deblasio states that “Excessive Speed contributes to 25% of all traffic related deaths” I personally am not a driver so I would like to hear from all of my drivers out there. What do you all think about this law? Does it seem fair?
My personal opinion, well I am just not too sure how much of a difference 5 miles will make. People will still drive over the speed limit regardless, this is New York City and everyone is always in a rush. Most car accidents probably happen because of careless drivers who are not paying attention honestly. Either way make sure you remember FRIDAY NOVEMBER 7, 2014 this law is in effect and you know they are going to go hard. (You’ve been warned)
